Jelly Boat Recipe
The jelly boat recipe takes a bit of time, but looks really neat when finished. Enjoy!
You will need:
- Jelly (more than one if you want different colours)
- Small squares of paper
First make up a jelly on a bowl and allow it to start cooling. Cut the oranges in half and dig out the flesh of the oranges, without damaging the skins. (You could use the orange flesh in a fruit mix for pudding - or eat it on the spot if you are hungry :-) ). Arrange the half oranges on a tray and fill them with the jelly. Allow the jelly to set.
Cut out two squares of paper for each half orange. As a rough guide, make one side of the square a little smaller than the diameter of the oranges. Now poke a toothpick through the bottom and top of each square. This will become the sail for our 'boats'.
Once the jelly has set, cut each orange in half again. The finishing touch to the jelly boat recipe is to put a sail into the jelly part of each boat. Voila! Your very own fleet of party food boats.
